Blog Post 4: Video of Having a Deeper Look: Paisley Gets Her Groovy Back // 1963 Kenskill

Highlights at this stage include lots of discovery! What’s behind this!? What’s behind that!? Still happily surprised and not freaking out over anything that seemingly would indicate a BIG Problem. So the fridge came out (a little muscle provided by my cousin Kev and Raul) and wasn’t too shocked to find that the integrity of the fridge cabinet and the ceiling panels holding the vents are shot. That’s OK. Fridge is in the weird status of looking totally unused and yet completely neglected so now I’m on the search for a service shop to see if the original Dometic can stay with us.

Working front to back I can’t wait to attack the shower and toilet areas.

My Dad and Challo attacked the rust and the repaint of the tongue, the pull out stairs and the rear bumper. With just those cleaned up, rust removed and paint jobs, she looks absolutely gorgeous.

Finally also got access to all the exterior panel compartments with the help of Leo, The Key Guy. He’s still retooling and trying to save the rear compartment lock.

The big story on action news is that mice (I don’t like to think they were rats) really had a cozy home for some 30+ years. But now that I’ve moved in - all those lovely little places made from soooo many leaves and torn up insulation (my theory is that the insulation was robbed from the over-wheel-well areas) are outta here! I did find the petrified skeleton of one mouse resident. RIP you little F#@$@#

After Kev and Raul got the saw out, my friend Dave, the plumber, came by to do the final bit underneath to set free the blue water tank. And gave me some great insights to how the plumbing is all connected. I’ll be measuring and ordering a new plastic fresh water holding from Tank-Mart. I’ve already received the SHURflo 12v Revolution RV Water Pump.

I also ordered and received a replacement 14” Roof Vent - only to be set straight by my cousin Frank and have since returned that and received the ONLY vent-with-fan that a decent person would install (I’m told) - the Fantastic Fan is here.

Tune in for the next video post where Dave provides me with an Ahhhh Haaa moment and Paisley moves into her fab park up space in our backyard. So Happy…. I can’t believe that after so many chats about “wouldn’t it be great to have a cool trailer back here…” It’s a reality! and Paisley is here.
