Blog Post 8-10: Moving Along with the Reno!
Just read my last post EP #7 from NOV…Who was that scared and timid trailer rennovater? Afraid to remove a skin!?! Hah — I’ve since removed other skins, walls, ceiling panels, windows and much much more. I’ve got 3 new videos and one little blog post here:
The big news is I have 2 x Rauls who are the shiny bright stars in Paisley Reno World. W'e’ve got Raul FOK “Friend of Keven” and Raul FOF “Friend of Frank.” As I’ve gone in and pulled things out, the two Rauls and whomever else I can recruit… have assisted in the start of a process of putting it back in.
Wood-rot be gone! R-FOK replaced the rotted out wood piece that ran front to back on the curb side of the trailer and around the wheel well. He built a new side panel for the storage compartment at the rear and all the replacement pieces around the vents. R-FOK did a bit of magic in the kitchen cabinet area as well.
R-FOF ran wire and hoses, replaced faucets and plumbing. Hooked up the new water tank (*Shout out here to my bro who was acting project manager on the stressful task of drilling in the water tank fittings and a big help on the start of vent re-install) and spent loads of time on wiring in general.
There are little sneak peeks in EP#10 of some of Paisley’s finishings even though project completion is still many weeks away. I’ve started laying in pieces of floor tile (in places where you’ll never see it) And used the holiday time to move the furniture to the upholsterer to make room in the garage for the messy task of cabinet stripping. Dad got The Ladies educated on “Brush On-Scrape Off-Scour On-Wipe Off Technique” and the hard work volunteered by my pal Denise and my niece Abby was HUGE!
We’ve had a couple of days of rain in the last 2 months so the tarp has been used, on and off. And even though she’s a bit torn up at the moment, Paisley was the festive backdrop for our limited outdoor COVID-SAFE and socially-distant holiday socializing.
Just imagining now how she’ll shine on the next big holiday-day… St. Patrick’s Day, of course!
